This year marks a double celebration for Richard Harding Construction.
Not only are we proud to be celebrating 10 years in business, but we’re also celebrating a significant milestone with one of our team members. Jake Kay, our BMTRADA Specialist/Estimator, has been with us for the past 10 years, making it a perfect reflection of the growth and success we’ve experienced as a company.
When Richard Harding started the business a decade ago, he had just a van and a vision. Since then, the business has grown exponentially and today, we’re proud to have a full fleet of vehicles and a highly skilled team of professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional construction services. This milestone is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and vision that have driven us forward over the years.

One of the highlights of our journey has been watching Jake’s career unfold. Jake joined Richard Harding Construction in 2015 at the start of his apprenticeship in Carpentry. Richard was proud to bring him on as his very first hire and over the years, Jake has proven himself to be an invaluable part of the team, progressing through the ranks to become a BMTRADA Specialist/Estimator.
Jake’s journey with us is a perfect example of our commitment to developing talent and offering career progression opportunities. On 10 years with the business, he commented:
“Richard Harding Construction is a family run business and for me, it has felt like a family for the last 10 years. When I first started with Richard Harding Construction, the workshop was at Richard’s parent’s house and the whole family were welcoming, it was a really close-knit team as well. The opportunities I have been given whilst working for Richard Harding Construction have expanded my knowledge and skills. The company has invested in me and I have appreciated every opportunity I have been given. I do not think I would have had the same career investment anywhere else.“
“My advice to anyone who wants to get into construction is: Do it! The job is rewarding and it is really satisfying to see the end product of a job, it gives you a real sense of pride. Looking back to when I was an apprentice, I realise that working in construction made me grow up, you do not realise the discipline the job requires, especially when on site when you have to ensure you conduct yourself professionally and adhere to health and safety regulations. Construction is a really rewarding career.
I would recommend Richard Harding Construction as an employer, the work is really varied, the team is really friendly and there is opportunity to further your career.”
As we reflect on the past 10 years, we’re excited about the future. Richard Harding Construction is still expanding, with plans to branch out into new areas of the construction industry in the coming years. We’re dedicated to continuing to grow, innovate, and contribute to the success of the construction sector.
Here’s to many more years of achievement, collaboration, and success!
