In February 2024, Keyham residents were deeply impacted by a bomb incident, which caused significant damage to many properties, including the gardens of several homes. As the bomb was safely removed, some of the local gardens suffered devastating destruction, leaving families and individuals with an overwhelming task of restoration.
As part of the Building Plymouth partnership, Richard Harding Construction was proud to step in and offer support. We saw it as a unique opportunity to give back to the Keyham community, and we were honoured to help restore the gardens that were so important to the local residents.

The project involved not only our team but also collaboration with other members of the Building Plymouth partnership, as well as a number of local construction businesses. It truly felt like a collective effort, with everyone coming together to make a positive impact in the community.
Our highly skilled and experienced Carpentry and Joinery team worked alongside residents to restore their outdoor spaces, while carefully repairing decking and garden features which had been damaged. The sense of pride in seeing the transformation and the smiles on residents’ faces made the effort all the more rewarding.
It’s a reminder of how the construction industry can play a vital role in bringing communities back together after adversity. We’re incredibly proud to have been part of this important restoration project and to contribute to the healing and rebuilding of Keyham.
This initiative demonstrates the power of teamwork and community spirit, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
